Tata Motors Ltd is counted among the top notch automobile companies of India and over the years become a leader in commercial vehicle market. Company was established in 1945 and has tie up with Daimler Benz AG to manufacture Light commercial vehicles.  Besides India company has started exporting commercial vehicles  in 1961 and has able to capture good automobile market share globally. In small cars company has achieve incredible success with the launch of Indica, Indigo and regularly launching new cars models according to the need of customers. Company has huge manufacturing units in Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), Pune (Maharashtra), Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Pantnagar (Uttarakhand), Sanand (Gujarat) and Dharwad (Karnataka). In 2005 to produce more cars company has tie up Fiat Group in 2005 to produce Fiat and Tata cars.


To expend operations in global market company has acquired Jaguar Land Rover in 2008, Daewoo Commercial Vehicles Company in 2004 and entered into a joint venture Marcopolo for manufacturing buses.


The success of the company lies in the Research and Development unit of company that was established in 1966 and has more than 4500 professionals that works to build innovative automobile technology that foster company to provide low cost cars.
